Last year's yuletide recipient came back today to leave another comment on the story I wrote for her last year after rereading it. :)

I think that just made my day. \o/

Especially because it's the Hernan Guerra!Superman story for Justice League: Gods and Monsters and it's on of those stories I know not many people will read, but that I'm very proud of, because it turned out so well. I've had a few months of not being very happy with the things I wrote, so it's nice to be reminded of something that I actually wrote and like myself.

It snowed! :) It looks so nice outside this morning - and I will totally regret these words when I have to go back to work tomorrow.

Also, leaving for Vienna on Wednesday and not really feeling up to a new round of trade shows yet. At least this year I only have two, but among them is, of course, my least favorite show of the year. Haha.

cap_ironman Holiday Exchange revealed all the fanworks. I still didn't have time to delve into the collection myself. Perhaps I'll have time when I'm staying at the hotel. ;P But it was really exciting to see all the comments come in, when in most exchanges it seems like people don't bother browsing the collections anymore.

I've been really distracted by my cap_ironman Fanfic Remix assignment too. I already picked a story and have an idea what to do with it and I'm very excited. :)

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year everyone! I hope 2017 started okay for all of you. :)

It did for me, with an epic D & D session. We played until 9am in the morning when we could all finally fall over in the knowledge that the party had (barely) survived. My husband is really putting us in tight spots recently. ;P Now look at me finally awake again. Haha.

I had a very nice Yuletide in the end. My gift was absolutely brilliant and exactly what I wanted! I'm just so in love with Critical Role right now, it's not even funny and this captures everything about why I love these complicated broken characters and that whole game world that Matt Mercer has thought up.

They’re just the same as they were before, except sometimes, when they’re both free, they spend the night together. Steve hasn’t regretted it, the kiss that followed the look, until today.

To make this year even more surreal it is also a friends with benefits story and the last scene reminded me a lot of the gift fic I wrote last year - which was also the prompt that I got again this year as well. XP I was really amused by that.

I hope everyone else had a good exchange time and will have a wonderful 2017. (Despite 2016 having been the rollercoaster it was...)

I'm still trying to write a few things for [community profile] fandom_stocking. How is everyone else doing?

Wow, honestly can I just say again how much I'm enjoying most of the Rebirth books that I picked up? Although with some of them it's still a feeling of nostalgia for the old things that are returning and some wariness about some of the New52 things till in place, overall the changes have been good for the things that I want to see.

DC babblingCollapse )

I have more than that on my pull list even, like Flash, Birds o Prey and Green Arrow. It's crazy and I'm sure it will dwindle a bit when I have a better grasp on what titles will work or won't work for me, but at the moment it's exciting. XD

cap_ironman Bingo Card

Yes, despite not having had much luck with it I'm trying my hand at the cap_ironman Bingo again. Let's see how it goes. There is basically not one single line on it this time that I feel actually excited about or that doesn't have a prompt that says NOPE!!!! very loudly, so I'm not sure this will be the year where I actually break my streak. :P

Bingo Card TableCollapse )

Wish me luck! I might need it with these prompts. :P

Exchanges, exchanges, exchanges...

I'm seriously so happy with my yuletide sign-up. So many possibilities and all of them want to be long. But before I can think my teeth into it, I have to do some canon review for it though and I might poke someone to do some brainstorming with me. \o/ I hope this works out, because I'm so excited for this prompt!

And public_call assignments are out too! I hope everyone will have fun with those. :) I have a vague idea what to write for mine already, and I hope I can get to it soon.

Also the cap_ironman Steve/Tony Holiday Exchange is open for sign ups now! \o/ It's for fic and art.

Come and join! If someone just wants to leave some drive by prompts for people, we're doing community gifts again this year and people can leave prompts for that here.

Exchange time is seriously starting off now! XD Every year this is so exciting.

Japan *whheeee*

So, the dates for the work trip to Japan have been set, and wheeeeeee, it's going to be so exciting. I just learned that I'm going to travel without a group, because the only other person from our European offices who is going has picked a different itinerary, which is sad, because I know her by name and from exchanging messages and wanted to meet her, but also super cool, because traveling with a group or people I don't know well is always a bit more stressful than this super private FIT traveler can take. :P

And best of all, I do have the confirmation that I can stay for a little while after the work part is over, so I will meet up with husband in Tokyo in early December on my return from what I think will be the whale watching part of my trip and we're going to travel for a week. *_* I'm looking at hotels in Nagoya and Kyushu right now and deciding on what to do and where to go.

Seriously, this is going to be so good! A work trip with a non-work portion that will allow me actual travel in Japan! It's going to be like my student days. XD And it's going to be nice, because our first ever holiday we spent together was a month in Japan (as a sort of test run before we moved in together, actually XD) so it's fun that this will be our sort of honeymoon trip.

The new camera will see some more action soon, yeah!!!

Yuletide letter 2016

Thank you for signing up for one of these fandoms and writing for me! I hope we both have a fun Yuletide and I'm looking forward to whatever you come up with. I crave fic in any of these fandoms so desperately that I'll be super easy to please, believe me. :)

Things I like

● complex characters and ambiguous, complicated relationships/friendships
● people being extremely competent
● hurt/comfort of the emotional or physical kind
● pining
● identity porn
● romance, especially the kind that takes a while to sort out
● strong trust between friends/family members/partners
● equal partners in relationships
● chosen family and complicated family feelings
● what-if-/canon divergent AUs and speculation
● unlikely characters sharing domestic moments
● characters thrown into situations they don’t usually deal with
● heroes and unlikely heroes
● unexpected or outstanding moments of heroism
● culture clash
● apparently cocky people with self-worth issues
● characters reluctantly admitting they have feelings for someone
● characters fighting their own feelings
● characters with dark spots in their past
● heroic self-sacrifice
● keeping secrets
● misunderstandings and their resolution
● trapped in an elevator/other confined space scenarios
● blanket scenarios
● sharing clothes
● speculation on backstory/future/possible endings
● mysteries
● adventure
● missing scenes
● introspective pieces
● outsider POV
● banter
● complicated love triangles and/or happy threesomes
● casual sex and non-monogamous relationships without cheating

Tone wise I'm okay with mostly everything from funny to angst and darker themes, but prefer things not to be too grim-dark without at least some redeeming moments of happiness. I love bittersweet and sad-happy, sad/angsty and happy-happy endings.

Porn is not a must, but great and more than welcome, but I'm not into drawn out kink and I love the sex to be part of the journey not the main plot. Some things I enjoy in my porn are frottage, intercrural sex, tribbing, shower sex, slow love making, angry and emotionally charged sex and fuck-or-die and sex pollen scenarios. Any rating is fine.

Holiday fic is totally something I can enjoy, too!

I don’t like D/s, explicit non-con/rape scenes, incest, sex with underage characters, sadism, hardcore kinks (whether a kink works for me depends very much on the scenario and fandom, so if I can think of something working in a certain scenario I will point it out below in the specific prompts), radical AUs of the “high school/werewolf/vampire/genderswitch/coffee shop/A/B/O/whatever” kind. (I just generally prefer the tone and setting of canon.)

crawls back in and waves

Yeah, so I've neglected journaling a bit and that's mostly due to being very busy, both with actual real life work and fandom modding stuff and the thing that brought me to LJ every day very consistently over the last year - Write Every Day - has failed to draw me in for check-ins recently, despite writing every day, because for some reason the tally format changed over the last few months. Which is a stupid reason, I guess, but I keep no recognizing the posts because I'm looking for the tally format I'm used to and I miss the neat overview it provided. :P

Even worse. There is tons of fic that I have yet to catch up and it just keeps piling up. I haven't read all the BBs and RBBs from last year even.

I even managed to get my cap_ironman draft up and above to the required 20k wordcount and then decided not to send it. And I feel really good about it. This fic seems to want to be longer than I think I have the stamina for in October and I'd rather give it the attention it will need and there are two work trips ahead of me and lots of already planned weekends that will cut into writing time.

But the good news is this gives me the much needed room to finally finish Still right here and I've been typing away at the missing parts of chapter 8 all day yesterday. In general recently every fic I start brings with it a plot that needs a BB style outline. I need to do fewer exchanges next year and tackle this pile of outline for real.

I still don't have a final date for when I'll be on my work related trekking trip in Japan, but it will happen in November and after it looks like we can really go travel on our own. So plans now are to stop in Nagoya visit a friend from Berlin there who is visiting her family at the time and then maybe go to Kyushu for a few days of Onsen relaxation. But I can't decide before I know the dates! So, hurry up work place and let me know what's going on finally, pretty please?

Exchanges and Gift Fic

Yay, I've had a wonderful gift written for a prompt I left in a recent ficathon and it's all kinds of awesome.

DC Comics fans go check it out. It's Dick Grayson/Midnighter with sort of hurt comfort and casual sex.

Every Man You Put Your Hands On (You Make Him Feel So Goddamn Handsome) (7390 words) by geckoholic
Rating: Explicit
Additional Tags: Mild Hurt/Comfort, Casual Sex, First Time, Rough Sex, Rimming, Pillow Talk
Summary:Midnighter's movements are quick and casual and nothing in his body language flags this as threatening. He puts the shirt away, neatly folded, and isn't so much as looking at Dick. And that leads Dick to a bit of an uncomfortable conclusion: this isn't fear. It's much worse.Aka that awkward moment when your unhinged psychopathic frenemy in the making is actually attractive out of costume, and the knowledge that you shouldn't do anything about that only holds up for so long.

Thank you so much for the wonderful gift geckoholic!

I see that a gift for me was uploaded for [community profile] femslashex already and I feel very excited about this one!

public_call is taking sign-ups right now and I'm working on the details of my Yuletide sign-up.

There are lots of interesting ships in [community profile] holly_poly this year, too. All kinds of threesomes involving Tony, Doom and Steve for example - or more than one Tony. And even more delicious DC stuff. I don't think I'll be able to resist this one.

Just as well. After the exchange year I've had I'll be more picky about my exchanges in 2017.

Femslash Exchange 2016 Letter

Thank you so much for writing for me, dear Femslash Exchange writer! These pairings are all so exciting to me that I know I'll be pleased whatever we matched on!

Generally you can work with what I specified in the sign-up, but if you want to have some more details here are some details about things I like in general and that I like about these canons and these women/pairings especially.

Things I loooooove:

● complex characters and ambiguous, complicated relationships/friendships
● people being extremely competent
● hurt/comfort of the emotional or physical kind
● pining
● identity porn
● romance, especially the kind that takes a while to sort out and that gets intense and complicated at times
● strong trust between friends/family members/partners
● equal partners in relationships and threesomes
● chosen family and complicated family feelings
● what-if-/canon divergent AUs and speculation
● unlikely characters sharing domestic moments and getting hot over it
● characters thrown into situations they don’t usually deal with
● big damn heroes being damn heroic and unlikely heroes standing up to a task
● unexpected or outstanding acts of heroism
● culture clash
● apparently cocky people with self-worth issues
● characters reluctantly admitting they have feelings for someone
● characters fighting their own feelings
● characters with dark spots in their past
● heroic self-sacrifice
● keeping secrets
● misunderstandings and their resolution
● trapped in an elevator/other confined space scenarios
● blanket scenarios
● sex pollen
● sharing clothes
● speculation on backstory/future/possible endings
● mysteries
● adventure
● missing scenes
● introspective pieces
● outsider POV

I love happy or bittersweet stories, but a bit of a sad, open-ish ending is also well liked and I'm not against a bit of a sad ending. (Don't make it grimdark, though.) I do have an extreme competence kink and many of the chosen characters are just so competent in their chosen profession that it might be easy to go there. I have a few people on there who have to work harder for it and I love seeing them succeed or create messes.

In general I prefer porn to come as a part of a plot or emotional development, but have no trouble with explicit sex scenes. In fiction I especially enjoy lots of touching, fingering, shower sex, physical exertion leading to sex, scissoring and oral.

Normally D/s isn't high on my list of likes, but I've found that I like the dynamic in femslash and these pairing a lot. In general, I've also found I'd like to see more hurt/comfort with am emphasis on the hurt, but with a good dose of the comfort, more dirtybadwrong dynamics of, say, the villain/hero or sexpollen kind, and more aaaaangst in my femslash, because all those hit my buttons.

I don't like explicit non-con/rape scenes (dub-con is fine, see sex pollen trope), sadism and radical AUs of the “high school/werewolf/vampire/coffee shop/ABO/whatever” kind.

Back and tired

We're back home. It was a really cool vacation and I have a tan that makes me look like I'm even more of a bronze person than Doc Savage and I'm told cat did a lot of work to equally charm and terrorize that cat sitter.

I bought a new DSLR camera before we went, because I'll get the opportunity to go to Japan again for a sort of work trip (with the upside that this time I'm not going to be the accompanying person, but was invited for to visit some nice nature and animal watching spots and write articles about those after) and now have a LOOOOOOT of pictures of Campania and cats to wade through. We had two good friends along for the trip and pulled them heavily into a new D & D campaign that kept us up a few nights. And the wedding stuff was nice and stressy and while it really was charming and came with amazing food, I'm glad it's all over now and every one was pleased. (Well I was mostly stuffed and exhausted.)

By the way, I'm hanging out on imzy. I haven't done much with my personal blog thing yet and mostly poked around a bit, before the vacation, but if someone wants an invite to join during the beta phase, you can request on at my personal blog "community". The whole system of imzy is centered around different communities. It's been nice so far. Not sure how likely it is to hit off, but parts of fandom have taken to it and have been welcomed with open arms.

So, some exchange fics I've written have been revealed, so I can share them with you now. (Expect reposts.)

And public_call is running again. So, please Doctor Who fans get ready for the exchange. We're going to announce the dates soon.

Wow, so, yuletide is almost upon us. Where did this year go? O.o But, yeah, trobadora had already pointed out to me that it's time for public_call soon and the preparations for the Holiday Exchange at cap_ironman are also starting.

After watching what went down with [community profile] rarepairfest and then xmen_remix has me a little worried and it might influence the way we decide to run cap_ironman remix in January. But we'll see. (I think what I find most worrying is that this happened mid-exchange for someone and there was no clear communication or documentation of the change in functionality. But then, there barely is any real hint on how the system works and it's learning by doing for anyone who wants to run an exchange on AO3. ;P)

[community profile] femslashex is taking nominations right now and despite my pledge not to do more fests, I'm very tempted. ;P the way it looks I might not get a BB draft in this year, so I might as well. That, and I have so many shiny femslash pairings at the moment....

I'm alive and reading comics?

Huh, wow, I haven't made a non-mod, non-fic post in a long time, apparently. O.o I still owe you guys wedding photos even...

I've been feeling perpetually exhausted and have channeled - or tried to channel that - into writing fic where I had the time and that's been doing wonders for my general mood. But it also led to me not reading much, not following my flist etc. :P

There are reasons why I've been feeling so exhausted and at least 60% is job related and then there is the fact that my father has been very difficult since the wedding and I'm not entirely looking forward to having to deal with him during my vacation, because of the Italian wedding part of the whole affair. I've been writing messages with my uncle Nicola for weeks to get everything sorted for the party, so at least that should go off without too much of a hitch. (It's family. It's going to be chaotic anyway at least to some extend.)

So, I've really neglected writing much. I haven't even squeed about how much I loved Star Trek Beyond and how it sent me into a TOS rewatch that will lead into a TNG rewatch and so on... and how Patty and Holtzman are now my all time favorite Ghostbusters and the action was even watchable, which is not something I've thought of any movie since I think Fury Road.

I have so many comic feels lately, most of them DC Rebirth related. Honestly, I love how basically all the books are like team books now in some way or other. We have a ton of new Flashes of all races, shapes, sizes and genders and Wonder Woman is already so damn amazing - but Rucka, so we knew it would be!! - and we have the Detective Comics bootcamp and every other book I picked up seems to be about hero + plus a group of people or family or something and it's nice how that slips in some diversity without taking away all the things previous readers liked. I absolutely adored the first issue of Superwoman - which is even better than that because it might just as well be Superwomen. A title about two smart women who don't like each other that well and don't really get along, but who help each other and work together to step up to a legacy. That is really cool. I hope this is going to be AMAZING from here on out, because that first issue completely sold me on the idea that I want this in my life. (I might have a new pairing, too.)

Is anyone by any chance reading Batgirl? I've picked up Birds of Prey, but the New 52 made Barbara into a character I barely recognize and I was wondering if I should try to jump back in or not?

So, anyway, I'll try to be better about posting and keeping up now, promise.

A Voice in the Wind (The Remembrance Remix)Collapse )

[community profile] femmeremix just revealed and reminded me that I haven't gushed about this yet. Because I received an amazing remix in one of teeny tiny fandoms of my heart. Someone remix the one Demon Knights ficlet I have written so far. (Now and Forever, if you were wondering.) \o/ And it's an awesome remix.

It's Xanadu-centric and totally amazing. It runs with the whole future sci-fi Camelot idea in an extremely cool way.

The Once and Future Camelot (The It's Only A Model Remix) (1186 words)
Summary: This is a very different Camelot, with spaceships and science and technology the world has never seen.
Xanadu seeks out Merlin.

I think it did amazing things with the original.

Sadly, it's the second thing I received over the last couple of things I signed up for where the person who created it decides to remain anonymous beyond the creator reveal. I hope that's not personal and I understand the impulse, but I'm a bit sad about it anyway. It's just another thing that has recently been curbing my enthusiasm for exchanges.

Anyway. I wrote a Hunger Games remix for geckoholic and I shall repost it soonish.

Also [community profile] remix_me will reveal later tonight and then I can share the fic I wrote for that too.

Someone wrote the second ever remix for my Steve/Tony story Learning Curve and it takes a completely different approach than the last one. That is what's so amazing about remixes.

This is the one:

Trouble with the Curve (The Spring Formal Remix) (1563 words)
Summary: Spring formal is coming up, and Steve Rogers and Toni Stark are conspicuously without dates. Luckily, they have Sam and Natasha, friends who know what’s good for them.

Remixes are really so much fun. I wish I'd had more time to write treats. Maybe next year!
Title: Bodyguard for the Day
Fandom: Marvel (616)

Title: Career Day
Fandom: Supergirl (TV)

Title: Courtship
Fandom: Iron Man (Comics)
Pairing/Characters: Victor von Doom/Tony Stark
Summary: Things are never straightforward. Not with him being Iron Man and sure as hell not with Victor von Doom suddenly wanting to prove he can be a friend.
Rating: Mature
Notes: Started this before the RBB and then got sidetracked. But now it absolutely needs to be out before Marvel pulls out this rug beneath my feet. :P

Title: All to Get Here

All to Get HereCollapse )
So there has been an announcement finally that Remix Redux will be running after all this year. Just now it will probably mean the Madness part (which I'm super excited about) will crash heavily with my BB writing that I desperately need to get started on. :P The schedule isn't up yet though, so there's hope.

Anyone thinking of signing up? And what will be your fandoms? I realized that I actually qualify in enough fandoms now that it's a tough choice what to offer up to be matched on. There's probably no point in offering Marvel Noir/Iron Man Noir, although it would be cool to match on the more out there stuff.

avengersfest is also running again, but I think I'll pass this time. No more exchanges for me for a while, even if this one has always been a lot of fun. :P
Title: the monster inside of me

NPT and EveryWoman

So, [community profile] everywoman revealed some time ago and now I can talk about the stories I wrote! One I already reposted just now. The other one is going up later.

Also, I feel spoiled rotten and like the luckiest person ever. I received not one but two well written and absolutely awesome F/F superhero fic for Not Prime Time! \o/ I'm so excited! Everyone should go read them. Seriously.

The first one is for Dawn of Justice!

She leaves tiny half-moons on your palm (5328 words)
Rating: Mature
Warnings: No Archive Warnings Apply
Relationships: Diana (Wonder Woman)/Lois Lane

Lois didn't know what was going to happen next, but she wanted whatever Diana was willing to give her. She wanted to feel alive again.

And the second one is Supergirl!

Five Times Cat Grant Courted Kara Danvers and One Time She Succeeded (9624 words)
Rating: Teen And Up Audiences
Warnings: No Archive Warnings Apply
Relationships: Kara Danvers/Cat Grant

Kara Danvers is Supergirl.
